John Harris was born in 1967 to an Air Force family in Panama City, Florida, and spent his childhood moving around the world. He graduated with honors from North Davidson Senior High School before attending Liberty University from 1985 to 1992. During his college years, he was deeply involved in College Republicans and other political organizations. From 1986 to 1987, he was part of the team that built the largest College Republican chapter in the country.
In January 1992, John graduated cum laude from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, concentrating in finance and political science. After relocating to the Atlanta metro area, he began his career in the mortgage industry, first working with a broker before founding Promethean Finance, where he specialized in mortgage refinancing. In 1998, he launched MoneyWorks4u.com and later served as keynote speaker at the 1999 WSB Managing Your Money Conference. In 2001, he added Hope Funding, LLC, a mortgage company, to his portfolio and successfully managed both ventures until selling to his partner in 2007.
John is currently pursuing his MBA at Shorter University while working as a Senior Paralegal. His long-term goal is to read for the Bar in Virginia and become an attorney.
Beyond business and law, John has devoted decades to politics and campaign strategy. A graduate of Morton Blackwell's Leadership Institute, he has been trained in all aspects of campaigning, from grassroots organizing to media strategy, demonstrations, and counter-demonstrations. He has worked extensively in political campaigns and specialized operations, often tasked with exposing opponent vulnerabilities and shaping press narratives.
Together with his wife, Eve Harris, John co-founded Citizens for Justice with Mercy, an organization dedicated to advancing justice reform within conservative circles. Their vision centers on the principle of Earned Restoration—a belief that the justice system should balance accountability with a clear pathway to redemption and full citizenship. John is convinced that this message resonates with Christian conservatives while also appealing to commonsense Democrats who feel overlooked by their party.
Today, John and Eve are in Washington, D.C., sharing their vision that true justice requires mercy—and that advocating for earned restoration does not mean being "soft on crime," but rather ensuring that the justice system reflects both fairness and hope.
Best regards,
John Harris
